Default Oil Drain Plug?

Hi everyone. I tried to change my oil on my 2006 H3 I-5 for the first time by myself last night. It was only until I had drained what I think is "oil" that I really didn't know where the plug is. Some please tell me this is the oil pan and i didn't drain my tranny fluid by mistake..

Plug all the way to the left btw.

The OEM trans pan has no drain plug. So it would be near impossible to remove the wrong drain plug.

If what came out was black, you're good to go.

Lol. Ain't that about the truth. Unless some PO changed to an aftermarket pan for trans or weld one in. Obviously not in his picture but could happen.

While you're at it, swap that crappy bolt to a fumoto valve (F107N).
You want the N model. N stands for nipple. This way, you can attach tubing & drain directly into whatever container you want. You're only left with an oil filter mess. At least half the job is clean!

I posted a thread on this a while back.

Here's where you can buy the valve:
F107N 12mm 1 75 Fumoto Engine Oil Drain Valve w Nipple | eBay

or amazon if you have prime (Saves you $4 in shipping)

i like the idea but dont want all that stuff sticking out there to get broken off!!
ive got a pretty clean system with a 5 gal bucket cut to fit, catches it all.
put right wheels on 3 in lift to tilt so all oil is caught.

Broken off? I have run the flowmoto on 4 different rigs and wheel the pies out of them. Never ever had an issue. The UCP protects it very well and makes changing theoil a breeze. Poke a hole in the bottom of the oil filter with a screwdriver and no mess.

Why is this so complicated that you had to dig up an old as dirt thread to post in, and then posted another question about the drain plug here?

It is a metric plug. 12MM x 1.75 pitch

The size was in BOTH of the forum threads you posted in and plastered all over the links (in blue) by Synthetickiller.

If you were asking about the Fumoto, that too is included in Synthetickiller's links. F107N (N for nipple). They can be ordered without the nipple - F107, or with a short nipple - F107S, or with a multiple position short nipple - F107SX.

Go to Fumoto's web site if you need more info.
