I just went to open the driver side front door to my '99 H1 and nothing... had to roll down the window and open the door from the outside. Anyone run into this same issue and know how to fix it? Hoping to get some feedback before I open up the door panel. I'm guessing this isn't super complicated but I've never dealt with this before.

 

it is simple to remove the inner door panel and the handle lever assembly. There is a linkage rod that connects the handle with a Z bend at the handle end that you slip out to remove the handle. Then you will probably find the other end of the rod disconnected at the latch assembly. There are plastic retaining clips that hold the rest of the linkage arms, you twist to un clip the plastic clips from the rods and pull the rod out. One of these plasic clips probably fell out. A decent local auto supply store should have them as they are fairly generic and used on a lot of door and tailgate linkages also. You will probably never find the broken piece down in the bottom of the door.
