You can reach 75mph pretty good for the I-5. I have a long uphill highway ramp where I get on every morning and it isn't going to blast away people in smaller sedans, but it can hold its own.

Oyealiz,

The I-5 in the H3 is a bit of a slug sometimes, especially uphill, but personally I don't care, the Hummer isn't built for speed anyways (leave that to your vettes! lol) That being said though, it obviously can reach normal highway speeds at a normal rate. It's just not a Corvette
I'm going to drive another this week and hopefully have more room to accelerate. I don't need big power (that's the vettes, like you said lol) but want to at least have the acceleration of my ancient 95 grand cherokee 6 cyl!

My l previous vehicle was a 2002 GMC Sonoma Crew Cab, 4WD. That 4.3L V6 put out 195HP, the truck of course did not have the weight of the H-3, but was heavy. It was no spped demon, but I was always happy with its power.

I'm thinking the H-3 has more weight and 242HP so I will be blessed with the same performance.
I stomped on the go pedal yesterday to pass another vehicle as I was entering te freeway, and the tranny kicked down and we moved along, and I had some pedal left.
It didn't snap my head back that's for sure, but it moved along enough for me to be happy.

Congrats. It looks great, but I'll let you in on a secret. It looks even better with a good coat of mud.

Enjoy!

There was only one increase in HP since 2006 in the H-3 that I know of. The 195HP I was referring to was in my previous truck.

I researched it after I posted. 06 was lower than 07/08/09.

I'm just getting back to some of the forums. I missed the Hummer forum, and I was looking for another thread I posted to and stumbled on this.
I have to say, I still have the love affair going on with my H3, still turns me on when I drive it. No other car has me feeling this great. No kidding.
