Hello everyone. I'm new to the site and just had a few questions I needed help with. I've beeen driving my mother's subaru station wagon for the past year lol and I'm dieing to get behind the wheel of an H3. I've been looking at prices at local dealerships and came up with a price range from 19 to 23k for a used h3 with 40k miles or less. Mostly 08s and 09s. I just had a few concerns before making my purchase. How concerned should I be about the price of parts and maintenance for my h3 being that they aren't produced anymore? Should I be concerned with the resale value of my h3 say three to four years down the road? I'm sorry if these are dumb questions but I just need some encouragement and selling on my first car purchase. Thanks, Paris.

After you purchase any used car and drive it for 4 years there will not be a huge resale value. It won't matter if it is a Hummer or a Mercedes. As far as parts go there is laws to protect us and GM must supply parts for many years. The major components are easily replaceable with parts that are common to other GM products. I would not be concerned at all with an H3 purchase.

 

08/09 H3s had very few problems. I wouldn't be concerned at all about buying one. Make sure the maintenance is current and keep it that way and you should be fine.

 

The only maintenance I've had on my H2 the past 5/6 years is wheel bearings, those are easy parts to get - albeit expensive, and they just got replaced within the last 6 months - so definitely a reliable vehicle to say the least and I drive mine like a beast! Good luck
