Doesn't really do any good with a determined drunk..

What they are doing here in Dallas, is getting some old beater/jalopy and having the interlock installed in that.
They pay their $110 a month rental, the beater stays in the driveway and they keep on driving their regular car.

Untill.... they inevitably get stopped again or wreck out.

One way around that was GPS tracking. When they went in for their monthly upload, the probation officer would get
a report on all of the failed start attempts (real ones and/or the falseones caused by garlic breath, mouth wash or cold medicine),
driving times/activity and whether or not they left their authorized counties.

No start or tracking data meant something was up.

To get around the compressed air and balloon trick,they now require you to "audible" at the same time you
are breathing into the device.

Basically, not only do you have to give you car a BJ, you have to hum to the F*ck*er as well.

Oh yeah.....Rolling re-tests every 15 minutes.

It won't kill your car, but keeps it from restarting until a tech does a reset.

The battle rages...........

 

Nor does it help if they have never been busted before. It only takes 1 time.

If you see a drunk driver dial 911 and report it! You may just save a life!

 

All I can tell you is, I sure as hell don't want or need one on my vehicle.

With that said, the grill should be just about ready for the steaks.....mmmmmm.....
