Ah yeah I forgot that another key difference between the standard premium and the lux audio systems are also the number of speakers. I dont think the non lux ones have the powered Bose sub.
See this thread - https://www.hummerforums.com/forum/h...-system-14620/
The last post in that thread states that the lux systems have 9 speakers while the standard premium systems have just 4.

If you go to Crutchfield, they will hook you up with exactly what you need and you will not have to eliminate the steering wheel buttons or chimes and they will quote you a system that will work with the Bose amp which is under the center console. You will also not really need a wiring diagram as their will be no need to cut and splice. The head unit will fit without need of cheap filler panels too.

Thanks guys,
I didnt mean to sound like a jerk... i just used to be part of a car group that would wasnt helpful but more like "we are more knowledgeable than you and you should bow down to us".... so when I see answers that follow the same responses they gave, I have flashbacks :-P
It wasnt "here this is how I can help" but more like "youre an idiot, how are you even allowed to post on here".
Anyways,
Here is my question.... what if I already have my stereo setup? It isnt that I am looking to buy the items at this point, but I already have them and really am not sure I would want to change up and spend more money that I dont have. Dont get me wrong, I guess I would rather have it right then sorta.... but then again when I have a certain budget and already have the components.....
Given, assume I have the lux stereo since I have at least 8 speakers that I can see (2 pillar tweeters, 2 front door, 2 back doors, and two rear pillar speakers).... unless they put speaker grills into areas without speaker. I know some old cheap cars do that because they only make one panel for the car instead of two (one with the option, and one for the car without the option)
again, I appreciate all the help I can get. I am trying to tackle this on my own, but my last car didnt have so many things intergrated into the main computer. It was pretty straight forward. The ignition was the ignition, the stereo was the stereo, the ecu was for the engine only, and so on....

Hey guys, Me again.... I am curious. I am looking at the H2 and it has what looks like 8 speakers (2 a-pillar, 2 front door, 2 back door, and 2 rear pillar)....
They are all Bose speakers.
They are functioning perfectly, but I am putting in a new system and as you can see from all the questions...
My new question is this
Is the rear pillar speakers really necessary? I remember reading about speaker placement in cars is key because it has to do with how the sound is and comes to you. With the speakers being that far back, I was thinking what good do they really do? They are little speakers and they are like 10 feet from the front seats. So I guess what I am asking is if the speakers were removed, or not added in, will there be much difference in the sound of the system?
I know MixManSC has said how the Bose setup is impressive and done in such a way for a reason, and they have alot of money and must know what they are doing for the best sound.... But in the end, I am getting rid of the whole stereo setup. So I am just wondering if I will hear much of a difference? I am even wondering if there is much of a difference heard if the OEM Bose speakers at the back pillars were removed?
Also, one more queestion. MixManSC, you state that there are 9 speakers, not 8. Where is the 9th speaker? I can only see 8 but maybe I am missing something
Thanks

I figured this was probably what you meant, but where is the subwoofer at?
Given I have pulled some of the interior apart and yet to find that thing...
is it hidden or under sommething?
Thanks
