New Laptop.. Thoughts?
I decided to max out my CreditCard since my main PC gave up the ghost. I bought an Acer Aspire 5100 lastnight. It's a little slower than my desktop AMD FX55 with 4 gb ram ant 2 WD raptors in RAID0, but since I'n not gaming competitively anymore, I am parting it out...
So anyway, this machine seems to do everything I want to do.. I am still poking around on it to see its ability..

We sell these, and for the price, they are great. Not really rugged enough for serious laptop users, but good features. We have found Acer to b great in the warranty dept here in Canada. I'm personally not a Turion fan, but it should do the trick.
Did your old PC have Vista? or is this new for you?

Vista? eekkk..
Acer Laptop looks identical to mine, not like that means anything. Yea got 5 year warranty covers everything, coffee spill, dropped it, replaced.. can't ask for anything better than that.

Nice JD!
I am on my 2nd Toshiba in 8 years which have served me well (minus some terrible sales, customer service and warranty work issues I have had on the 2nd one thru CompUSA <NEVER will I shopCompUSA again!!!>
While I am sure many have varied opinions on brands, etc and it's a matter of personal choice and experiences...my next go round will be an HP tablet PC with the moveable screen - for listing presentation purposes. And while I have not yet experienced Vista..GRRRR why do they alwayshave to come up with a new OS when most of us have gotten comfortable with what we have? This is now screwing horribly with certain programs I use such as the MLS etc.. (yes I know they will eventually work out the bugs but until then what a PITA for those on Vista!)
And Lil HB, if you aren't a fan on turion processors, what do you rec?

My first computer was an Acer... I loved that machine. Since then I have been a Dell user but that is only because I have a low interest credit line with them...Vista I have no exp with it at all. Have fun.
