Default Harry Reid Declares Iraq War is Lost ?

Being not an american I don't understand how an American Senator can issue such a serious statement while your country is at war.

My personal idea is that the Iraqi war was a political mistake and a human disaster.
But since your administration started it my concept is that all the american politicians should 'officially' , at least, back your troops on the ground to the hilt while trying to get them out as soon as they can.

What you people thing about this statement from a politician majority leader?

JM: It seems like everybody and anybody in our Congress these days is looking for any reason to make Bush look bad. It's pretty simple actually. When he issues a statement like that, he is probably (and this is an assumption) meaning to start a firestorm of finger-pointing at Bush. It's in the news every day over here. Some politician somewhere is blaming Bush for something. It's the main reason I don't watch the news anymore, that, and that everything they tell us is negative and violent. Who the hell wants to watch that after coming home from work? I give up on the media here. You say something wrong and the FCC takes your license away. They have done it a few times already to popular radio hosts here who "mysteriously" fired after causing a problem or saying negative things about the government. It's a big joke these days. Freedom of Speech is becoming non-existant.

It's typical at Presidential Election time..The Liberal party is doing anything and saying everything (some right, but mostly wrong and out of context) to get their Presidential incumbant to shine above the current party's administration...Happeneddurning Viet Nam too, when you guys left that **** hole for US to clean up...

Ok Dennis I can understand, and accept, that during election time each party try its very best to make the other one looks as incompetent as possible. That the name of the game
But you're at war!
Wether its a good war or a bad war its, to me, irrelevant at this late stage.
If the war is lost its the US of A loosing not the democrats or the republicans. Both party should join forces to win this war, if not militarily(?) at least politically.
Its american influence and vital interest that are at stake.
so in my opinion this guy his a traitor to his own country.

The same happened in France during the Algerian colony war in the '60 and the guys doing it, two members of the French Parliament, where just removed from office by General De Gaulle who was a tough bastard but probably the last real patriot we had has President.

As far your last sentence, you American should know better.Never come after a French in a sh*t hole.

LOL..No insult intended you know....

But I agree completely with youJean...regardless of the political differences between the parties..the support should be 100% unanimous for the support of the troops across the board without de-moralizing the troops...Then settle differences once everyone is home...But like I said, it's SO typical of this country's Liberalizim.

Get this...When one of our American GIscome home in a coffin and the families and friends are having the funeral services for this fallen soldier..there is a group of total morons on the side lines protesting his funeral, calling him/her a *** and saying that God hates them and they deserved to die..blah, blah...Total disrespect for the this great American, that gave his life for his country...Where do this fukheads get this attitude from?...from the Liberal ******** like you just mentioned...[:@][:@]

D, don't mix religion with politics, it's an ugly combo. the funeral protestors are not a political organization, they are christian fanatics. i don't see the recent comments that were made about the war as a lack of support for the troops on the ground. while it is demoralizing, as a veteran, to hear that we're losing a war, it doesn't mean that those in the front lines aren't doing their best at what they're being told to do. personally, i don't see that we're winning anything in the desert, other than a winning profit margin for body bag manufacturers. but i still stand behind the troops 110%. support for the war and support for the troops are 2 totally separate things. it's the christian fanatics that support neither.

The Left Wing Libs of the Democratic Party have married their entire cause/platform to losing the war in Iraq and the war on terror in general. The way I see it is the Democrats are way too far into anti war that if they allow the White House to actually win the war then they are screwed for a long time.

Unfortuntely, the Democrats have placed their political survival above the war on terror, the troops and the defense of this fine country.

Granted, the war hasn't gone well but the network media (the big 3) and the print media, most major newspapers are all left wing and you would be hard pressed to find a single story anywhere in the last 4 years about ANY success the troops and the war department has attained. All you hear is doom and gloom from all media except Fox News and talk radio.

I could not believe I heard Sen. Reid actually say the war is lost, can you imagine what that says to our enemy and our boots on the ground in theatre. It's really sad....
