Unhappy New Hummer H1 owner with a problem already!!! HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

I just purchased a 2000 H1 soft top and I am experiencing a problem. At times, it starts right up (after the "wait" light turns off). I can hear the glow plugs? warm up (if that's what that sound is). At other times, when I turn the key to to wait for it to warm up, the "wait" light briefly appears and then goes away and the check engine light stays on as well as the "check throttle" light comes on and off. At this time, there is a different noise outside of the glow plugs warming up type noise. At this point, when I try to start the car, it makes the same noise as it would with a dead battery. I replaced both batteries. This did not fix the problem. When I disconnect both batteries and then go ahead and reconnect them, the car starts right up. Does any one have any idea what could be wrong? I live in north jersey so if any one is close by and wants to check it out, please let me know.

Did you try to replace the Glow Plug Relay? SS Diesel Supply has them for around $65.

It seems like the bolts that connect the cables to the batteries keeps loosening up. I literally turn it a hair and the problem is solved. I replaced one bolt and it hasn't loosened up so I will replace the other 3. Thanks for all your help!
