Default New H1 Owner (Tire Question)

Hello, I have a 99 H1 with front tires that are out of balance. 0-45mph is smooth as silk. 46mph + and my teeth start to fall out. Tire shops I've called tell me "no thanks" or one guy said the tires needed to be balance while on the truck. What is the best way to have these balanced? Thanks

Where are you located? If you have run flats many tire shops can't do it. Try one of the semi- truck shops.

Last set of tires I had to get balanced at a truck shop, since a regular shop wouldn't touch them. One option is to use balancing beads, which are inserted INTO the tire.
You can also try rotating your tires in the meantime, it might make a difference, especially if your fronts are causing the vibrations.

If you can find a set of Centramatics they likely could solve your issue also, at least to a large degree.

Default H1 Tire Balance Confusion

Took my H1 to a 4X4 place for tire balance. I have a 1999 H1 with the bead lock wheels and CTIS system. Shop said that all the air would leave the tire when they attempted to balance even after they disconnected the quick disconnect. Shop said there should be some type of "ball valve" or something, but I just don't know enough about it. Also, those of you with bead lock tires, I've had most tire places tell me they don't put tires on that are bead lock due to liability..... Anyone have thoughts?

There is a strapping tool to compress the run flat that most places don't have. I watched a 4WheelParts place recompress the run flats using their lift. Check with the closest old Hummer dealer to you.

The beadlocks should not be an issue. I have had tire shops tell me they would not work with run flats but never had one turn down beadlocks.
