Default New Brake Pads in 1hr

Just installed a new set of brake pads on the front of my 3. 66k miles on the first set and last week they started to squeal. Went to the auto store and picked up a set of Advanced Autoparts Wearever Golds. Metallic compound and the install went great. Easiest pad job ever. Wish all cars were like this. $50 bucks for the set and should get me through for a while.

Blue,

I was thinking about it but when I got in there it was so easy and I had to get done quick to pick my daughter up so I didnt do it. I may go back in and do a write up but not tonight.

This is what I did:
Jack under car
Loosen lugs
Jack up wheel
Jack stand in place
Take lugs off
Remove wheel
Pull cotter pin out of brake pad pin
Remove pins from top and bottom of caliper
Remove spring from bottom of pads connected to caliper
Pull 1 side out
Use C clamp to compress caliper
Apply lube to metal bracket on pad
Insert pad
Repeat process on second pad
Insert spring back into bottom of new pads
Insert caliper pins
Insert cotter pins
Put wheel on
Lugs on wheel
remove jack stand
lower jack just enough for tire to touch ground and use torque wrench to tighten lugs
Take jack all the way down and remove
Replace center cap
DONE!!

So you don't have to bleed the brake lines or do anything with the brake fluid when you change the pads? I've never done it but I thought I heard somewhere that you had to do something like that.

I would just add to crack open the master cap a bit to make sure you can compress the pistons.

if you have added fluid over time as pads wear, then compress pistons you may overflow the fluid resovior and dump fluid, might want to remove some. they say its bad on paint.
others say its good to bleed to get old dirty juice out. ive heard its not ez to bleed abs brakes,?? id like to know.
