Problem: drivers window wont work. and the doors wont unlock or lock with the remote!

well it started over xmas break the drivers window wouldnt work (all others do) maybe for 5 days then started working again!
i thought nothing of it and all of the sudden it happened today again same thing. when i got home i was going to get something out of the back seat and hit unlock on the keyfob twice to unlock it and the lights flashes but no "unlock noise" so i hit the button about 10 times and nothing. it doesnt un lock or lock the doors, the lights flash and horn sounds but noting happens.

does anyone have a clue what it could be?

Something like that happened to me after battery went dead while fitting my dvd system.
Drivers window was stuck down, doors wouldn't lock/ unlock, check engine light was on.
I read somewhere to take off battery cables, touch them together for 5 seconds then leave for 5 minutes then reinstall cables.
Sounds bizare but I tried it and low and behold everything was back to normal..

That exact thing happened to me about a week ago..got home and checked the fuses and they where Good .but noticed the postive battery cable was loose.. thightened it and everything worked ok..then it happened again..I'm going so have the shop look at it friday morning...I didn't try and anything else because I wanted it not working when I got there...I waill post an update later....Mike

 

ok i tried the battery cable thing to no avail.

when you get it back from the shop, im interested what they find out, ill call my friend at the dealership tomorrow too.

UPDATE:

dropped it off at the dealer tonight. the tech was baffled! should find something out tomorrow!

 

UPDATE:

fried BCM!!! (body control module) replaced and working fine!

Took mine to the shop today..connector to the driver side door had some corrosion & moisture in it..cleaned and greased and everything working ok..no charge

HUMMER OF COLUMBUS...stated that this was the fix to this problem 70% of the time other 30% was the BCM

 

I had something like that happen to me right before Christmas. I had a power inverter plugged into one of the cigarette lighters, and the remotes would not work at all. As soon as I unplugged it, everything was fine.
