My H3 is over heating
just driving down the road in summer can get u a load of bugs in the radiator area.
when i get a new(used) car i check it first, then add a piece of alum window screen
as a bug catcher. if it ever gets really full i just toss it and add a new one.
this could work for mud i suppose. it takes some messin to get it thru a grill slot and unwound but u cando with some effort. good job for someone with smaller arms than mine!
btw, in europe there is a study being done on just how many bugs are killed by cars!! seems the're concerned about enuf bugs for bird food! i know it sounds like the epa working overtime. rush says people simply out for a drive are now commiting "insecticide"

(4) 10mm blots. Two in the front that you can see through the fins. The other 2 are under the hood rite in the corners where the hood, fender and grille meet up. Once the 4 bolts are off grab the edge around the turn signal and pull out There's 2 clips on the very outside of the grille on each side. Then do the same on the other side and it will be loose. The clips are very high quality, you can reuse them hundreds of times before they need replaced.
Are you talking about the clips behind the black grille support? These are not needed to be removed to take off the grille. That's the only thing i think that you could be talking about....
I would love to know where the other 2 clips you guys are talking about is? Because of the hundreds of these that I sold and the 4 that I got here and am looking at rite now only have 4 clips, 2 on each side on the outside.

Not clips.....reread my post.....nuts & screws. (2) screws accessible from the front between the grill slots, (2) screws under the hood in the corners, & (2) nuts on threaded studs under the hood towards the middle section. At least this is how it is on my '08....possibly different for other years?

My first post says what your post said. I said 4 bolts, you said 2 nuts and 2 bolts. Where yours has bolts some had a threaded stud with a nut on it instead of a bolt. either way they all get removed with a 10mm socket.
Sorry for the misunderstanding.
No prob....I just wanted to be sure 'Paladine71' didn't remove only (4) fasteners instead of (6), and start reefing on the grill thinking the only thing still holding it on were clips.
Thank you to all the experts...
After running all possible diagnostics etc... I came to a conclusion that the Gauge (Engine temperature clock on the dashboard) is inaccurate. I replaced it yesterday and so far it seems like the car is running fine and temperature level is slightly above the center of the gauge. next step will be to run a diagnostic again and make sure that the car is running on it's proper engine temperature. should it be 220 ? is that the ideal running temperature for the H3?

I want to throw up a "thank you" as well to both theBroken and Broken Halo for looking out for me. I'll see what my grill looks like from behind this weekend, if time and our heatwave permits. Should I be concerned that both guys offering advice have the word "broken" in their names???
but t hey have some great knowledge of the HUMMER H3/H3T platform.
