How can I tell if the H3 has the monsoon system or not?

 

if you look in the back cargo area you will only have one storage area on the passengers side. The drivers side is where the sub woofer is located. If you have TWO storage areas you have the basic stereo

 

OK, I was not sure if I had it or not but I can see it now. I only have 1 storage and on the other side it says Monsoon!!!

You can usually tell by the indicated BOOM coming from your trunk

 

There's not really that much "BOOM" coming from that little 8" woofer. However, the Monsoon is much better than the stock setup and sounds pretty amazing for a factory "upgrade".

 

I've owned around 30 cars, and I've driven about 3 times that many, and my Monsoon system is the BEST factory system I've EVER heard. I'd say it's remarkable for being stock.

 

You say "remarkable" and I said "pretty amazing" and yet it sounds like you're arguing with me...by agreeing with me. I'm confused...

 

You were comparing the Monsoon over the stock stereo. I was comparing the Monsoon to every other stock stereo I've ever heard lol.

 

I just purchased my first hummer H3 about a month ago, it was the lux package, took it back and exchanged for base model since it was 2 years newer with almost 50k less miles on it for $2500 more. I will say, I MISS the monsoon system, it sounded great. Now Im looking to upgrade the stereo / doubledin/woofer, etc...but with the monsoon I wouldnt have touched it. You can crank it and it doesnt distort at all.
