I went to get a alignment then the guy comes back to me saying your lowering ball joints need replacing, how would I know if this is true??

 

take it somewhere else. Ask them to do the alignment, if there is a problem, they will tell you.

Simple Jack up the front of the truck. Grab the top and bottom of the wheel and try to rock the wheel off camber. If it moves you got problems. If it does move have someone else rock it while you inspect from the backside to see if the ball joint is moving or if the movement is in the HUB.

I took my H2 for my air bag light and I was told about all kind of other maintenance needed to take place. The diagnosted all the problems and issues and after I received the list of parts I went and bought them some place else. I'm doing the work my self. Have you replace a lower ball joint yet? What are the steps if you can advise.
