I have an 06 and i have been experiencing some issues while accelerating. I have been hearing this loud clunking noise. I took my truck to the shop on base and threw it up on the lift. After removing the skid plates and looking around i noticed that the bushing that holds the front diff to the cross member was completely shot.
I went to GM and talked to the parts guy, i asked him if i could buy another bushing. He told me that the bushing could not just be replaced that i would have to buy the whole cross member. I asked him how much i cost and he told me about 460 dollars. i was curious to know if anyone else has had this issue and if there is a bushing i can buy instead of having to buy that cross member.
Just for a quick fix to keep the noise from happening i took some washers and stuck it in between the bad bushing and the diff to keep it more secure until i can figure this out. any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.
