Little rub problem
Ok so first off i am running 37's on my h2 and i get a little rub on full turns. I have the passenger side t bar cranked all the way up, and the driver side about half cranked because it sits real uneven when driver side is all the way up, i assume this is because gm builds hummers with the intention of there being a driver in so i guess the more you crank the front the more the unevenness shows. Is there any thing i can do to get a few more inches in the front besides buying a lift kit. And am i right on the uneven t bar adjustment theory.
where is it rubbing? frame or back of the wheelwell? how wide are your tires, 12.5 or 13.5? mine rub the back of the wheel well, and i get rubs on the frame and stabilizer bar. pretty normal for H2s, even the stock tires rub on some. as for the t bar changes, mine aren't matched either, i have the pass side cranked more than the driver's side. you may want to back the pass side off about 1 turn from full crank, just to leave some slop.
I have 37's on mine at stock height. I have only rubbing issues on the frame at full lock. Other wise no problems. Also I was told you should never crank the Tbars all the way up. When you do that you lose all of your downward travel. Also when you back it down one turn you should actually back it down 2 full turns then one back up.
if you replace the tie rods with fabtechs, you won't get the frame rub anymore, as you lose a bit of turning radius. i don't rub the frame when i'm on pavement, only when i'm playing. i've got 13.5" toyos and the only consistent rub is on the back of the fender well at full crank.
never considered trimming it, the tires don't get hurt, and the plastic flexes enough. the tires will trim it eventually, but i've had my toyos for almost 2 years and still no hole in the plastic. [8D]
