Hey guys, new to the family, purchased my 05 SUT in DEC'15, I was looking through everything and noticed the key the dealer gave me (1 Key starts truck) does not unlock the jack compartment. I've tried upwards downwards left right, trust me lol it's not it. Any ideas guys? I've haven't contacted the dealer as we all know the answer already so I won't bother.

 

I wonder if your truck had been re-keyed at some point because my ignition key also opens the jack compartment. Your VIN at a GM dealer could probably get you a working replacement for the original.

 

UPDATE Feb 25 2017
So after over a year I finally managed to open up the jack conpartment with a sharp pocket knife (the door is not too strong anyway as its just plastic) and I replaced the lock with a new one from Home Depot. The item is from Defender Security "Cabinet" Item # is U-9941 fits just right guys. The only thing I used from the old lock was the gold hook.

 

That other key you got might be for the end caps on the roof rack rails....
