last week i checked it and it was stuck,no unlock. i lubed it and it freed up. i added a good light weight lube oil. it was smooth.
today its stuck again??
wonder why?

 

Interesting..... what lube oil did you use? Hope it was not WD-40?

Is the key original?

I have only used my door key in the door maybe 4 times in 10+ years, mine is probably dry, and the key worn from the ignition. Maybe they do not quite mate correctly anymore???

 

light weight penetrating/lube, good stuff. key is same as last time. ill try others today. i hate to pull it! even though i air chizeled an opening when i put it in a new door 2-3 yrs ago.
dont use wd40 much...

i forget if those pins are up or down for lube to get in. i had a jeep lock that was up. didnt lube till i pulled it?

 

i pulled out my hidden key, from ace hdwe,6 yrs ago, not used. it works fine. u were right doc.
also forgot another ,,,in my wallet. old age...
