I can't get my email notification to work, it always used to but has stopped working two weeks ago. I have tried everything and still no email of any posts, replies or PM's...what gives? anyone else having problems?

 

I went over to the ADMIN folder on you and refreshed your info..see if that helped.

 

I notice theses servers are very slow.
I wait minutes to get into a post
and i have all high tech equipment at work and at home i use my work severs too.

Mark, I agree...some times it takes FOREVER to load and even worse is when you submit a long *** post sometimes it doesn't go through and you have to start all over again...VERY VERY fustrating!!! I make it a habit now to copy all my posts before I hit submit just in case it doesn't go through. I also have the newest high tech computer geek stuff so I know it isn't on my end.

I went through a spell a while back..where I couldn't hardly even open the forum up..seemed like all the advertisers on the side all trying to load, would hang up the complete openning of the home page here..and if I finially did get on site, then it took at least couple minutes per click to enter a thread or post...Then it went away or back to normal again...But even now sometimes, I have to click on one of the forum topics or return to last read page, that I have to click three or four times to get things to open up...

 

That is the nature of the internet my friends. Get used to it

exactly Mark. I visit a few forums and mod one much bigger than this and we never have problems with connection speed or site stalling, problem is we are taking too many advertisers and sponsors that is taking to much bandwidth.

 

the sponsors have nothing to do with the speed of the forum..we are having a server problem, which accounts for the issues with the email notifications.

the owner is currently looking into all new servers, but they arent cheap, and we dont charge much for advertising...the few number of banners that we have on here dont slow the site down any..the traffic does, as it is overwhelming the servers. the few advertising banners take up so little server space that a TRS80 could host them...

as for the email issue, we dont know what is wrong...its a problem at every site. one problem that we are running into is that ISPs are starting to tag and block "automated emails", in an effort to block spam mail, but in doing so, they also block our automated emails.
