Ipod interface

RE: Ipod interface
Actually the Uni-Pod Ipod Interface comes with a GREEN Wire that is connected to the ground, so it'll stop charging the Ipod after you turn off the car. Also, It wont keep working unless your key its on ON Position (For that you have to connect the POWER wire to a +12 "Switch") which means that the Uni-Ipod ONLY will turn ON if you pass the key to ON Position. So there you have two way NOT to drain you battery....The Uni-Pod its a good example for your comment.
Here to can take a good view on how it works, good luck:

RE: Ipod interface
Hi, just ordered USA-SPEC PA11-GM IPOD Interface with Aux Input for my 2006H3.
anyone using this product? I have factory installed CD changer with XM working currently.
thinking about buying IPOD Video for my H3.
thanks~
got my PA11-GM today, and tried to install it. won't work, my car won't start either after installation.
using the band button, XM1=IPOD, XM2 = IPOD then XM error occurs and car electrical power shuts down and comes back on partially back and forth.
What am I doing wrong?

RE: Ipod interface
did you cut the #7 data wire and spliced with blue XM wire?
Do I need to follow the exact steps from the instruction?
car electrical power shuts down itself and comes back on and off due to the Interface.
I don't know what's wrong.
thanks.

RE: Ipod interface
Yup...cut the #7 wire which is the XM 1 channel on the radio. I haven't had any problems with my car power ****tung down. Double check your connections and make sure nothing is getting squished behind your stereo.

As a point of information. I picked up my 2009 H3 yesterday. It has the 6 CD radio that comes with the adventure pkg. The dealer installed the ipod hookup and it works perfectly. They used a Pacific Accessory Corp. uPAC-GMC2 ipod and auxiliary input interface with HD Radio option for GM Class 2 Databus radios. I have an ipod touch so they also included a USB charging adaptor for the ipod touch and iphone. It'sa SCOSCHE passPORT IFWA adapter. it simply attaches to the normal ipod cord and then plugs into the ipod touch as normal. It's made by SCOSCHE Industries.
I hope this helps to figure out what to do for a hookup. I didn't do it myself, I wanted to see what the dealer would come up with and it was worth the 300 bucks since if it didn't work they had the responsibility.
