Interested in purchasing a hummer H3
Hello,
I have been looking into purchasing a used Hummer H3 lately, and wanted to get some advice / input on the purchase. It seems that you can pick up a used H3 with relatively low miles (under 40k) for around 20k. I am seeing a lot of 07's - 09's for around 20k. This seems moderately low, as the MSRP for these vehicles are 30k - 40k. Does the resale value of these vehicles deteriorate this greatly that quickly? Is there any advice you guys can give me to guide me through this purchase process? Anything i should be concerned about? Are replacement OEM parts going to cost me an arm and a leg to get fixed? Are these vehicles prone to repairs? Any years which i should be concerned about quality control?
Any input is GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks,
Ben

I'd look at the 08's and try to find one with lower mileage. You'll have a good rig for many years to come.

Go with an 08. The 07's had some transmission problems that led to the steering binding. Mine was done for free under warrenty. However, Consumer Reports states the 07 is the most reliable. Just make sure the trannie was fixed.
Frankly, I would go with an H2 now that production has ceased. I traded my H3 in for an H2 and have never looked back.

Chubosco,
That's good to know about the 07 transmission issues! Was this a factory recall, or about how many will you notice the transmission issues?
Looks like the hunt begins for a white or black 08 with the two tone beige / black interior with low miles!
Thanks for all the information!
