and also remember that all plus is just a mix of regular and premium that is mixed at the pump. So your still getting old varnished premium mixed with fresh regular.

Here it is....took me a few minutes to do and I have noticed quicker response down low - off the line but it still is a pig when I am on the highway wanting to cut over with some speed. I have to remember my Audi TT and this H3 are TWO DIFFERENT WORLDS.

Here it is....took me a few minutes to do and I have noticed quicker response down low - off the line but it still is a pig when I am on the highway wanting to cut over with some speed. I have to remember my Audi TT and this H3 are TWO DIFFERENT WORLDS.

It looks like the box is a resistor that places a resistance in parallel with the IAT to lower what the PCM thinks is the incoming air temperature. Here is an IAT timing adder table from the Colorado I5. When you sit at a red light, the intake air temps increase and based on this table you can see that at 104 F and higher timing is removed. What your box does is not let the PCM pull out any timing when you pull out and it should feel more responsive until the intake air temps come down on their own and it then the response should feel the same since no timing would have been taken out with or without the box. If you can, measure the resistance between the leads of the box whenever you disconnect it.

To get more timing all the time without reprogramming, you'll have to put a resistor in series with the engine coolant temperature sensor (ECT). Here is an ECT timing adder table from the Colorado I5. If you can fool the PCM to think the the engine is 15 - 20 F cooler you can get a few degrees of timing and you'll feel the performance increase all over not just when you pull out.

Talking New member….old question…

I can see this is a very old tread, but I still need to know the answers. I have a 2006 H3 (love it) I want to know where the coolant temp sensor is. The pictures are not here anymore so I can’t see what to look for. The photo account has been removed that has the pics. I sure hope someone finds this post…..

I was lookin for any pics of the wires that were here at one time. I need to know what the coolant temp sensor wires look like. I have a 2006 H3. Any pics that were here are not here now, too old i guess. Thank you for your help.
