Is the Avic d3 an easy install for a H3? Also, will my oem xm receiver work with this? Finally, would my onstar still work? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks.

I don't know about Install Circuit City installed it for free w/ the purchase. In order to hook up onstar you need to purchase a GM modulator. and yeah you need to buy a Xm receiver for xm also, the stock one is in the actual deck so that wont work. The slope and accelerometer and all that stuff is displayed like a circular gauge, and is very slick. The real reason it has this feature is for two reasons the deck actually has a gyro in it. The gyro is so the when gps coverage is low or non existent (tunnel) the Nav. uses your speed and the gyro to be able to figure out your position until it picks up some sats. again. Also it uses knows if you are moving and won't let you play video on the screen (there is a work around for this).
krm, looked at the avic - d3 and have someone who will install it with xm, ipod, and rest of integration with the steering wheel etc for 1500. is the avic worth that or show i go witha unit that has a harddrive. thanks.
I have the Kenwood DNX7200T and it's upgradeable by memory card. I don't know anything about the price for upgrading. But maybe you'll find it on the garmin page. This system plays movies while driving on the headunit too, not only on the backseat monitors. I think it's a very good and not too expensive system. The only thing is that I think it looks a bit too coulorful.
