RE: I WANT MY I-5 BACK!!
I still think you won't see a diesel till 2010, with all the new clean diesel laws going into effect most companies are going to be releasing diesels in 2010. I know Jeep is going to be releasing a diesel GC,and prolly a wrangler in 010.

RE: I WANT MY I-5 BACK!!
Don't forget about the GM Eco-Tec turbos that are currently offered in Saabs. The 9-5 Aero, for example, has a 2.3L turbo that produces 265 HP. It is a wonderful motor, and it would do well in the H3. It offers tremendous low-end torque, and it would offer reasonable gas mileage.
I'm also a fan of diesel, and I would buy an H3 with a turbo diesel in a second if they offered one.
On another note, I haven't had any trouble around town with my I-5.In fact, today I towed a small trailer without any trouble. The trailer I towed was roughly 2,500 lbs, around town only.
Here in Indiana, many H3s are available with turbo kits from Lingenfelter Performance Engineering down in Decatur, IN, just south of Fort Wayne. They sell them at the dealership here in Fort Wayne with the kits in place. On the I-5 engine, they produce over 300 HP. I have driven one, and they are nice.
There are other options!
