I have a few problems and want your guys advise.
First off im new to the site and a new h2 owner. I bought an 04 at a very good price with only 48k miles on it. Some of the issues are that the outside mirror heads are loose. They have about a half inch play in them. So when im driving over 40 mph the tend to move around. Is there a bolt that needs tightening or are these a sealed unit?
2nd issue. some of the metalic grey paint on the interior dash and console parts that get heavy contact are scratching and flaking off. I am a decent auto painter. I was considering taking all the dash parts off sanding them and painting them. What would be the best method for painting this type of plastic? Should i use an adhision promoter, then primer, then automotive paint, then clear? Is there a better paint for this type of aplication? This question brings me to my next issue.
3rd issue. If i have to remove these panels is there anything i need to watch out for to not break any of the panels or hidden screws? Ive noticed that the door panels have cracked along the pockets. Seems that the door pannels crack easy.
Any help you guys could give me would be awsome. Thank you in advance.

I am new to Hummer also i have an 03 H2 and mine did the exact same thing. I went to my local professional paint store and they mixed the paint code from GM for the interior. I just masked off the door handle area sanded and painted it again and it turned out great! looks exactly the same. Also the mirrors will do that atleast the old style mirrors will they are all wabley there is no fix but you could do what i did and buy the new style mirrors. whith the door pannels you can go online google how to take the door pannel off there is a screw behind the door handle take it out take the cover off and there will be 2 more screws behind that little door take those off and pull the pannel off that is how you take the front ones off be agresive with it pulling it off. My doors were starting to crack also just take the panels off and get some plastic weld and put it all over the back of the door pannel where it is cracking and it reinforces it well and no one will ever know because you cant see it! good luck when you are taking the door panel off start at the bottom corner and work your way up get a plastic wedge to put in between the pannel and the metal door so you want scratch!
