i broke it :(
Well I took the 3 into the dealer yesterday afternoon to leave it with them, with one very specific thing in mind for them to figure out. Mine is an 07. Anyways, recently it's started making a ticking noise. Especially notable when cold. And RPM matched. Much less evident once warm, but still audible.
I got a call today - a Head bolt is broken. Interesting. I'll keep ya'll posted on its' status!
Luckily though, I'm having almost more fun in my temp car - a black on black 2008 CTS! I'm quite impressed with it

Being in the Detroit car sceene,..I get to hear about upcomming cars now and again. I even have friends that are engineers for the big 2.5, and some even work at the proving grounds and such.
The New CTS is going to have the same 6.2 liter supercharged engine as the upcomming ZR1 Vette. But it will be detuned a bit. Last I heard it was going to be at 600 hp in the CTS. There has been a pile of them in this one storrage elevator that get tested for different things,..and all of them are fitted with MASSIVEbrakes. I presume those will make it to market as well. The ones on the ZR1 are massive carbon ceramic units. I can only suppose the CTS-V would require 14" or bigger rotors also. My buddy went for a ride in one a while back and said it was scary fast.
They did a convertable version in red,..but it was way too flimsy. Not going to be produced.
