Serial number 176477 was the first 97.5 model. I am assuming that theri stock number of 178381 is the same as the last 6 digits in the serial number. That would put it well past the switch to the updated HVAC models. In fact the serial number is further past the cut off than the total production run of 97s, if that truly is the serial number.

Thanks for the info.
I pulled up my pic of the tag I took when I drove it. It's the correct serial.
I have found out by CarFax that it says it had a Junk title in Indiana in 2000.
But since then it's in Texas all this time two different owners with Texas titles.
Not sure what's going on with that but trying to get the bottom of it.
I don't think anyone could have moved it in and White Washed the title but not sure.
Thanks again

Thanks Shamrock
I pulled both and see the junk title, but curious to how it was given a title and then a junk title on the same day.
I drove it a few weeks ago and went over it as much as I could and didn't find any visible signs of damage. It may need a more detail going over.
The dealer says it didn't show the junk title on their autocheck when they purchased it (which I don't trust what they say). However there has been about 18,000 miles since it was supposedly junked.
I have tried Indy DMV but offices are closed.
I don't see how they could have gotten it into Tx with a junk title to a good title.
Interesting and still trying to research, even if it turns out to be a true junked title, I have the deal low enough I may buy it and deal with issues later.
Mainly going to be a biodiesel project vehicle and possibly Cummins conversion.
Thanks again for the info.
