Going to need a bunch more information than what you provided to get help from anyone.

Like Which model Hummer, miles, recent work done, symptoms experienced, does the starter turn the engine over, etc....

 

Recently had a new gear box it’s done 64000 miles it’s always been fine I pulled up outside the house turned the engine off then tried starting it again and it died like a loss off power I’ve just put a new battery in it everything works I turn the ignition on and it’s like it’s in gear still because there’s nothing happening when I turn the key you hear things starting turn to start it and like I said nothing happens

 

I bet it's white! White ones have more issues with the tingy ma-giggys that connect to the who's-a fart.

 

There have been some threads here talking about the gear shift lever position switch..... only let's the car start in Park or Neutral. Might look into that.
