Here's my DIY. I simply soldered mine once and for all.

Thank you, however I believe there will be a new resistor pack soon under recall and if the old one goes out again I want to be able to replace it without a bunch of soldering. But great fix.

Where do I find the phone number to Hummer? I just bought mine last week. I'll never see the recall if I don't make the contact.

Mine was in for service when they issued the recall, I phoned them straight away - as of now they have no instructions as to what they should be doing in terms of rectifying the problem. Corporate message 'We'll be contacting owners and advising them of what they need to do when the time arises'.

Do you still have the GM phone # to report this?

If you are not the original owner, definitely call, if you haven't already, to provide them with you name, address, phone number and the last 8 of the vin# to be added to their database for the recall.

The CSR said yesterday that once it's "official" they will be contacting all of the owners in their database.

This thread or topic is one reason why Hummers suck. And why I regret buying mine. If I could turn back the clock, I'd buy a Toyota Tundra. Nuff said.

Please sell your HUMMER and buy a Tundra. You will just whine and complain about it too but on a different forum.

By the way, nice Tundra recall info here: Toyota Tundra Recall Information - Autoblog
Airbags, frame rust, bed bounce, etc. Sounds like a much better choice!
