GM never followed up on the recall letter, I called the dealer yesterday - they have the parts in stock and the rig is booked in for Monday, the repair takes about 30 minutes.

I got my followup letter on Monday 02/29/16. Probably get mine to the GMC dealer in the next couple months, time permitting.

I got my initial letter last August and three days later my blower went out. I'm in Florida in the middle of August the hottest month of the
year. So, I had the dealer do the recall work and paid $297.00 out of pocket. Last Friday I got the letter from GM with a reimbursement form and took it Monday to the dealer and got it sent out. Should be a couple of weeks. We'll tell what happened.

You do not have the updated harness and resistors. You will get reimbursed but you also need the recall done properly. The recall parts where not available until very recently. All the dealer probably did was replace it with a new old style harness which is still prone to overheating.

But if they were saying all along that they were still trying to make the harness so it wouldn't melt/burn how were they able to fix your car before they had a so called reliable harness? Sorry Tainter I just realized you posted this same thing.LOL

The two old ones that I had both burnt by the 1st plug in on the left and melted the female end of the plug. I'm going to keep checking this "new and improved" replacement but so far so good.

Different part numbers. New: 84014104, Old: 25867517

Curious as to exactly what's different. Might be visibly different, but might not. Could be just a different internal connector type, material, shape, etc.
