How did they attach to your hood??
If you look under your hood you can see the friction pins holding the Vent in place. Pop those off. Then mark the vent where the handles will be placed and drill the required holes. Easy DIY project. Only takes one Budweiser.[sm=icon_cheers.gif]

I bought my 3 used and it has some round high polished stainless handles on it. 1st instinct was to take em off. By the time I got it home I liked em a lot. Mine's an Adv pkg and I think they give it a bit of attitude.

Everyone has their own opinions but you asked. I never liked them and never would buy them. Sure would love my hood to open that way to use them then I would love them but I do not like the look as to me they look out of place and too big for the hood. Again you asked for my opinion and there are many that love them and thats great too. Just put a tick mark in the I dont like them catagory for me.

i actually surfed the websites of the sponsors here a couple days ago for some easy project to do to ours this Spring when i give it the big post-winter cleaning and the hood handles are what i jotted down.

I think they are a hummer trademark symbol regardless of which version...and let's face it you don't buy a Hummer to make it look like a trailblazer, you buy it to have fun with the rugged looks of aHummer.

Bigger tires and hood handles...in 2009

LOL... that is how I gauge project too.
Only takes one Budweiser.[sm=icon_cheers.gif]

But I will likely use about 6just to be sure.

I had a guy jerk on my handles. He pulled the handles and grill right off my H3 hood...no damage. He thought they were real!!

What is the general consensus about hood handles around here? i ran into a guy who owns an H2 sut in my town and we were talking about out trucks and he said my truck would look nice with some hood handles. Is that trying to look too much like a poser or is it considered acceptable behavoir? This other guy had 36s on his truck and was not even sure my truck was an H3 because it was just as high as his. []

Why add something that does nothing ?

I have the same one's that are in Vader's pic. I was on the fence about them and then kept looking at them once I put them on to see if I had second thoughts, but now everytime I'm walking to my car they look right. I'm glad I got them. The installation was easy. I just triple checked to make sure they were even since once you drill, you're stuck.

Since this thread has been resurrected I will agree with many of the others in that the hood handles serve no purpose this they don't belong. Regardless of how they are mounted they look like to much of an afterthought. There is maybe one way I believe they could look somewhat like they belong, and that is if a company introduced a replacement for the whole panel which recessed the handles into it like they are on the H2. That way the handles didn't seem to just sit up there on top of the hood. Aside from that, I'd avoid them.
