Hey all,
I am trying to find the easiest and cheapest way to fix my hood cables. I got the dreaded rust and it snapped one of them, so I want to replace them but I dont see a need to pay a deal 100-200 bucks to replace something that is only (what looks to be 5 dollars worth of cable)

Mine were both broke....had some insulated copper wire laying around (#6 I think) works great.

 

Home Depot or Lowes is where I'll go when mine breaks.

 

Go to a hardware store and grab some aircraft cable or garage door cable. Pick up some of the big marretts make sure they are the ones with the removable insert that you would feed the wire through. They have a screw that clamps down on the wire. You won't need the plastic cap. This is what I did and it has heLd up well.
