won't do anything unless you can measure the temp of the o2 molecules at the throttle body. Steel conducts more heat than plastic..that is just a fact..no debating that. The debate is whether that heat then transfers to the air and changes the temp...that would be hard to measure without the proper tools, cause you would need to monitor the 02 temp only and not the temp radiating off the tube.

Sorry but unless someone has a degree in physics or molecular biology then we aren't going to get a true answer here Last I checked you didn't need to be a physicist to be a motorcycle builder[8D]

Anyway CHP said the main reason he suggested changing the material used in the intake is because there was a company that made an intake for another brand car out of steel and within 2 years the product started rusting and lots of buyers got pissed off....he just didn't want to say that in the forum and cause panic from buyers or potential buyers...you know how people panic when they hear the R word

Just an idea, like BB said. I don't know how it works, I just like that it does. I mean, I get the concept of it, just not the specifics. Metal/Plastic/Aluminum, I really don't think that I will personally ever be able to tell the difference behind the wheel. All I know is when I hit the gas I can hear the air going in and the damned thing moves a hell of alot better now.

Oh well, to each his ...

It is true that you do not have to have the masters, doctorate, and undergraduate degrees I have to build bikes. [8D]
I told you guys I wasn't quitting my day job. If somebody was paranoid, for my own well being of course....not simply because they always know better....., about the material I use in my pipes, they could ask. Alumanized steel pipe, machined, welded, heat hardened, then sanded inside and out, take one long mofukkin time to rust even when not primed and painted and riding up under your hood. Bike partsare my second business and I do it because it is fun, and will put my kids through college, not because I have to. Besides, I can build 3 or 4 bikes in the time it would take me to restore and build one muscle car.

My bay at the shop needs some straightening up, this is from January, I have moved eveything to the showroom I could. My brud Kevin has the rest, twice as big as my bay. I was supposed to be at an easter egg hunt, but my youngest is sick again. I got the green light from wifey to blow thru the office and go finnish a bike I am sending to JAPAN! [:'(] So this hapless dumb chit is off to work, hope I can find my way.
Some dude over there wants it, and I'm shipping. I love it when Detroit can import to Yamaguchi, where ever the hell that is.

I don't like that MuddyD. I'm doing what I can.

Behind me to my left in that pic is the REFRIDGERATOR! Stocked full at all time of course. Not much to eat, but we gotpopand lots of beer. It is amazing how much good will can be generated at the industrial park when guys know where to gat a cold one at the end of the day. Our two in unit neighbors got some great stuff, Eric, another bike builder (he does those long sleek new age choppers, not my bag, but the dude can paint like crazy) has a $4500.00 cold saw. Friggin thing is wild, I'm savin up. [&o]
Guy in the middle does cylinder head porting, and has a flow bench....for air flow testing. Course I wouldn't know how to use that thing, never tested nothin, just a bumpkin stumbling through life. Couple more hours gotta go find my way home.

It was a joke, .....get over it.

I was joking your joke? Is that possible? IDK?

I almost ran over the Easter Bunny on the way to church this am to the horror of my youngest. The stinker dodged at the last second and went under some road side bushes. Next time I'll be quicker on the throttle.
