Helping deciding on H3
Hello,
I am stuck between 2 H3's I could you some advice. I want the Adventure package and I also like the Luxury Package. I know you can get both however I am unsure about the leather and cloth seats. Any comments, info, suggestions are most welcome. The 2 I am looking at are both blue one is just the adventure package with cloth seats 24,000 something miles on it for $20,190 its a 2007, The other is a H3X with Tan leather seats 2007 with 53,000 miles on it for $19,999 I am not to familiar with the X I know it come with some extras.
For the Members that have leather seats when you take your H3 out into the Bush, Beach, etc do you find yourself worrying about the leather ?
Also, has anyone taken there H3 out on trails that has not had the adventure package if so how did it do.
Again, all advice welcome
Thanks

Where do you live? What kind of off-road do you do?
I have an 06 H3 with cloth and "stock" suspension and gearing.
It performs great at my level of off-road here in Colorado. I am not a "mudder" or a "rock crawler" so the lower gearing with the lockers on the adventure package is not really necessary for me.
I like the cloth vs leather - I don't like to slide around on the trails. The leather seat does mean that the seat has power adjustments if you want that. If you want larger tires you can get them yourself. That may be an advantage because you may not want the same tire that the H3 has on it already. Remember that larger tires are more mass to move and the larger tire will change the effective gear ratio, speedo etc...
I would go for the vehicle that has the most complete maintenance history first. Look at the material condition of the two vehicles. Does any maintenance need to be done to one and not the other? Brake pads, fluids, belts & hoses? Has the 24000 and 50000 mile dealer maintenance been done and documented?
The vehicle I purchased has a complete history of maintenance at the dealer, verified by the Onstar history for oil changes.
The only expense I have had was to replace the headlight bulbs because they seemed dim to me and the rear wiper blade.
Cheers, Doug

Personally I like the cloth because you don't stick to the seats in the summer and it makes my back sweat. In the winter you're sitting on a block of ice until it warms up. My wife likes the leather so the one we have has the leather with the heated seats, its her car. My Z71 has cloth. As far as taking it to the beach, just try not to get salt water on them(lay a towel over them and dry off) and clean them off when you get home.
Thanks for the great information, I plan on using it for camping out at the lake, riding out on the beach at (Capelookout here in NC) and some simple off road trails nothing crazy. I think I headed more for the one with the adventure package with cloth seats. It has less miles and is at carmax for $20,000
I am perfectly happy with my '07 Adventure and its cloth seats. For my money, leather seats and the offroad environment don't go together. I'd definitely go with the Adv rather than the pretty's on the X.
The biggest offroad drawback you are likely to find on either H3 is the OEM tires. They are the pits in any significant mud.

I am going to ride down and check this one out this weekend. I have been eyeing it for sometime now.

Khris,
Just reading your posts here I would agree with the others in thinking those cloth seats and the adventure package fit you better. I am not much for leather sitting either for reasons mentioned.
BTW, Although we have gone to OBX every year for the last 11 years, this is the first year we may be taking our H3 and I am excited about that...it is dark blue and has some PSU decals on it and a roof rack (PSU colors match perfect of course)...if you see us at Cape Lookout, SHOUT!!
Best of luck with your purchase.
