Stepper motors are very inexpensive(less than $20). I just bought a desoldering gun for mine. Fast and Easy. You could have the cluster out, fixed and installed in just over an hour. If you send it in to get repaired, you still have to take it out and install it and you have to be without the H2 for however long it takes. For me it's much harder and more time consuming to just find a box and packing tape to ship it off. What you need to watch out for is the needle placement so you don't get the needles out of whack. If you want to get a little deeper, LEDs and resistors are really cheap too.
