So I have over 100k miles on my H3 now... so far its been incredibly reliable with no major issues. However, yesterday I noticed for the first time what appears to be some sort of black residue/oil/sludge on a hose that seems to be coming down from where the power steering fluid reservoir is. It dripped down to the bottom oil pan and was still fairly sticky, luckily no drips on the floor yet. Any idea what this part is and more importantly, what the issue could be? Pics attached.

 

Power steering hose. All the GM crimped hoses seem to eventually have that problem. Mine sweats at the oil cooler lines. Not dripping yet, but they get cruddy after a few months needing a good spray off at the coin wash after soaking with a few sprays of simple green.

 

Thanks Doc. Is that fairly easy to replace/re-install?
