Default Engine Component

Hey guys, can anyone explain to me the difference between the Limited Warranty that comes with the car at the purchase, which says it is Bumper to Bumper, and the Engine component letter?? as part of the settlement I got this Engine component letter warranty for the period of 4 year or 50K miles...... it includes all kinds of engine parts, pistons, gears and many others...... Wouldn't all this be a part of the regular bumber to bumber warranty that comes with the car ?? I am bit confused with this letter.

I'm not a 100% sure..But, I think the letter is saying that the engine is now covered from the date of the repair, or that letter's date for 50,000 miles and/or 4 years, which ever come first...The rest of the car is still under the original factory warranty ..The engine will have a little longer warranty to go, after the original whole car warranty expires...Hope that made sense.

The engine letter kicks in at the end of the normal bumper-to-bumper period. It is an extension of the warranty, but only covers those engine parts listed (not the rest of the vehicle).

At least that's what I got out of my letter and a discussion with my GM rep.

yeah, according to the letter both warranties would end at the same exat time, 4 years from my date of purchase, not the date of letter...... but its very unclear, I already called GM and and left a vm to call me back with an explanation..... it first says it will commence when my current warranty expires, but then it says "and it will end nov 17, 2009 or at 50K miles..... which is exactly when my bumper to bumper ends..... doesnt make sense at all
