I have read a ton about this head issue in 2006 h3's. My vin falls within the range and has 48k on it, but runs great.I just bought this vehicle too.Can I take it to the gm dealer to look at it, or will they laugh at me since I don't have problems? I saw the warranty is 4 year/50,000 miles? Do you know if that is transferrable? When I bought this from a dealership nearby, it was sold as is...Sorry, just not sure how manufacturers warranties really work. Thanks again..

 

They will not laugh at you but will not change the head for you. From all the posts I have read on the issue, if it has not shown up by now likely not. I was in the same boat on my 06. I totaled it at 16K with no head issue. Just enjoy the ride.

My grandad's motto, if it ain't broke, don't fix it..... might be applicable here? But if a dealer wants to go swapping out your head for you under warranty, that ain't a bad deal either.

 

manufacturers warranties follow the vehicle until they run out, my H3 was sold 4X before it fell into my hands, and everything was still covered under warranty
