C6 xm aux input - Corvette Forum
^if your not afraid to cut and slpice some wires on your truck.

i did it to my truck last weekend, nothing fancy, a 3$ part from radio shack, and a foot of cat5 cable. took maybe 30 min. i added the aux in port right under the radio in the big black blank to the left. i can snap a pic if anyone is really interested, i also have a pinout of the plug on the radio to know what wires to cut. it works great, i use my iphone and ipad sometimes to play my music and it works great, it still shows the xm channel so if your super picky about it then idkk.

Does this mean the wire colors are not the same as described in the Corvette Forum thread? Also, do you have the Monsoon radio in your H3? Great info! Thanks!

Yeah, I'd be interested in seeing how to do it if it works with the Monsoon. Anybody know how to hook up a backup camera to the stock Nav with Monsoon? If that could be done, some of you guys who are good at electronics could probably make some money!

No I do not have the monsoon. And no the wire colors are different. I spliced mine behind the radio and there's two green/white wires so I had to find a pinout to be sure. I can't post the pic of the pinout from my iPad but if someone wants it I can email it to them.

And as far as this working on the monsoon. According to what I've seen it will work the same. The only difference in the wiring between the two is the wires to the speakers goes to an amp instead of straight to the speakers. If UQA is indeed the RPO for the monsoon.

my book shows a shielded cable with l/r wires inside the shield.
left,bn/wh
rite,gn/wh

these wires are part of a 12 pin cable between the radio and digital radio.
i saw the conn. its the same pins as computer ribbon cables,2x6pins.
the hot setup would be an ext cable plugged in series with the 2 audio wires pulled out to the stereo jack, ala p n play

more ltr

That's interesting, because when I first read this audio mod, I immediately wondered if the spliced in wires were going to allow RF interference through the new AUX input.
