H3 Remote Start
#11
Don't know if this is any help or not, but I have the 'Clifford 2-Way Responder LE Remote Start Model 1.3X', and after a year I've had no problems at all. Clifford, Viper & Python are basically all the same unit manufactured by Directed Electronics. I had mine professionally installed, so I can't give you the specifics other then to say they DID install some kind of bypass/relay (or whatever) to get it to work with the Pass lock system. You could try calling the installers and maybe they can give you more info. They are: Auto & Truck Accessories, 8154 E. 14 Mile Rd., Warren, Michigan (586) 977-7900. Good luck!

Just picked up my 09 H3t Alpha from the shop. Had a 5701 Viper alarm/ remote start with smart start installed. He had some issues with the install but corrected them and it works like a champ. Had to pay for that 100 GM part also...

I've had the Viper 5301 two way installed on my 06 H3 for almost 2 years now, no issues. The range on it is awesome, and the features that you can run i.e valet mode, turbo mode, run time indicator, are extremely impressive. The only issue I've had is when I had to replace my two way remote (I dropped the original and broke the battery door) I was told I could install it myself using the program button on the antenna, don't try this, I had to have the car towed to the shop and they programmed it for me, mine was installed with the GM factory security bypass module and this tripped when the new remote was brought in. Other than that the system is great.
