Not sure you'll regret not getting a v8 but it would be more fun I think. Some 2006 had head issues but my 2006 has not had any problems as of yet. (Knock on wood). Adventure package would be good and if you don't need a sunroof then I would skip it. They tend to leak but if you keep the tubes clear then not too much of an issue. I have one but don't open it all that much due to having air conditioning. If you want to know more just read the forums. Good luck! I love mine.

Get a 3.7L or the V8.

If you can find a championship edition made in 2009 that is the one to buy. Expect to pay in the region of $30k for a low mileage one.

Depends.. If you go to 35" tires and have to deal with a lot of hills or mountain roads at highway speeds you just might. If you tow big heavy stuff, probably. Personally, after owning an H3 and an H3T both with the 3.7 I wanted a v8. I was running 35s and here in UT it's always up/down hills or mountain highways and the lack of power got old. I hear great things about PCM4Less, but with no personal experience I can only say that you might be happy with a 3.7 if you get one.

Only 2 real downsides to getting a v8 version - cost and actually finding one with the options you want. The reason I'm in an H2 is because after months of looking I finally just gave up on finding a good condition, non high mile, reasonably priced Alpha with offroad package anywhere within 100 miles. In fact, I didn't see a single Alpha/offroad locally when looking.

I certainly don't regret buying my H2, but if I had to start over and I walked onto a lot that had a H3 Adventure 3.7 for ~$16k, H2 for around $22k, and an H3 Alpha offroad for ~$28k I'd ignore the 3.7 and flip a coin between the other two.
