Hi and welcome.

As for this post, there is a classifieds "wanted" section on this forum that this thread would have been more appropriately placed.

- Another thing you might want to consider is your definition of high mileage....

You might also want to clarify what you are looking to spend, what features you want, etc etc...

I could easily say I have a 75k mile 2008 or 2009 and call that high mileage and ask $40-50k

Yet it sounds like to me that you are searching for a bargain so spending 40-50k for a platform for your 30k conversion might not be in the books.

Just saying.....

"High mileage" is a thing of the past... With regular fluid changes (especially full synthetic) and recommended maintenance, the H2 can easily go 200,000+ in normal driving conditions. My 2007 runs flawless - absolutely flawless. Heck, wasn't it designed with 325,000 miles in mind? This isn't the day of leaded gas which destroyed engines...

Just curious, was the H2 really designed to go 325,000 miles?

Thanks your advice. Purchase one in Texas yesterday with 180k miles. I don't really care about miles, as it operate like it should.

Agree, the engine and trans are pretty reliable. The most I seen is 220,000 miles.

I have heard Texas Vehicles are usually pretty decent... not to say that you got a good one (or bad one).... just saying what I have heard.

Do you mind me asking what the run down on your purchase was?
year
color
price
options
etc

I read somewhere the 300,000 miles requirement; however, I cannot find it. These supposedly was an article appeared in 2007 in the New York Times that stated the H2 had been designed to last 300,000 miles.

I think with preventative maintaince and common repairs... any engine will last a good amount of time.

You hear about Toyotas and there high mileage club, and they had a commercial about a Volvo lasting many miles.... and so on.

I think it all comes down to the wear and tear on the engine. If you let it wear down, it wont last as long... if you keep the engine happy... it should keep you happy
