H3 from Oz
Gidday Blue Dog,
I have been on the hunt for a long range tank for a while as well. Is that a single bigger tank or an auxiliary? whaT is the capacity.
I have just started talking to a crew in Brisbane who used to make TJM's long range tanks about it as well.
Having had a look underneath, I reckon an auxiliary would be a butter way to go and probably give a greater capacity. There is space on the other side of the tailshaft...just needs some exhaust pipe redirected.
Cheers.

When I spoke to them they said if they got enough { 6} orders they would get a H3 and then they would design the tank so it would be at that time that we would know if it was a sub tank or bigger single tank, I have seen their tanks on other vehicles and they are well made and strong and have no need to reroute anything.
The best thing would be if you gave Brown Davis a call in Melbourne and have a talk with them too, that way it would be another enquiry and the more they get the more chance they will make them up and if that is you and me that are interested that would be 4 more needed.
I am wanting one for a simpson run so I don't have to fill the roof rack with jerry cans of fuel.

OK I'll call them next week. Who did you talk to?
I will also chase up with the local guys...they might be happy do it without the minimum quantity.
What is your triop plan for the Simpson? Have you been there before?
Cheers

Hey
Think it was a David I spoke to ?
Yeah let me know how you get on with your local guys.
I will be at Redcliffe in a bout 6 weeks if you are anywhere near therelet us know and drop by at the kite festival look for the red H3 I should be close by.
Have not done the simpson before the plan is to cross from west to east via the french line with a couple of side track diversions, will be doing a run out that way in a couple of months for a look and a shake down on the 3.

HiMark,
Have emailed Brown Davis with an enquiry. WIll call them later as well..might look like more interest!
Am going to see the local guy on Wednesday as well. He was saying that auxilary tank are difficult to get through Road Tansport inspections. Apparently Australia is the only country in the world where they are still allowed and that Nissan are discontinuing the 2nd tanks in Patrols. Some Toyota models have already dropped it eg 70 series Workmate 5 door.
Love the Simpson myself. have done it 3 times and should be there again in September. 87L means a lot of jerry cans! First time (15 years ago) I did it we went east - west with offroad trailers andcarried 240L ( we werenot going to run out!) but were not too sure how bad the economy was going to be with trailers.
Anyway, will keep you posted. have you had any other interest?
Cheers

Hi nqholden,
Put the uhf just in front og the gear stick. the ariel i mounted on the front guard on the LHS so it matches with the radio ariel. I made a bracket and cast a copy part of the cover and modified it to fit.
Turbo is dragging on. A lot of the pipe work has needed modification. Has been in the shop for 3 weeks and I am supposed to be going away next week end. Not feeling very warm and fuzzy right now.
was supposed to fit my custom draws and fridge slide this weekend.
Have posted plenty oof pics on the HummerX forum if you want to look there. Not sure how to put up pics on here. happy to do so if you can explain how.
