Hi Forum peeps,

I have a 2006 H3 with automatic transmission. A few weeks ago I had the thermostat replaced because the truck wasn't running at the temp it should be. Since then, I've noticed that she's shifting harder than she used to and tonight, she'll no longer shift out of 2nd gear. Starts fine, shifts out of 1st like a dream, but won't shift out of 2nd. I'm wondering if something could have happened when I had the thermostat replaced?

She's yellow and pretty much has lived up to the lemon color that she is since the day I bought her.

Wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Hoping it's an easy fix and not a costly one.

Does it try to shift to third and feel like netural or does it not attempt to shift out at all?

 

It attempts to shift, it just won't. Shifts out of 1st fine. But that's it.

 

If it is trying to shift into third but won't then it is most likely that your 3-4 cluch pack has burnt up. It is fairly common in the 4l60e transmission that is in our hummers along with most gm vehicles. The only solution is a rebuild or a new transmission. Sorry to bring you bad news
