The needles do get taken out. There is a simple tool thats used to pop them up. I talked to the dealer it's less then a 1 hour install. The price is $129.00 if you have more questions let me know. Or your more then welcome to checkout there website.

 

I put a white one in my mustang it was easy but not to sure about the hummer if i do i go with blue

HUH!!! I guess they improved the design cause I didn't get no tool to remove the needles and the directions told me to lift the corner of the needle and pass it through the hole in the overlay. Cool, maybe I'll get this now then, I was holding off cause it was a royal pain in the **** the way I had to do it. Thanks for the info Zoo!

 

I'm with Dennis on this one after doing the research. Apparently people out there have screwed up majorly with this even though it's supposed to be a piece of cake. The H3's alanog display looks pretty spiffy the way it is. I'm not going to take the chance unless they offer me a good magnet.........
