Hey I'm new here but have a question my oil pressure gauge keeps dropping to 0 and the warning light and buzzer keeps going off so I had the sensor replaced, replaced the oil (for the second time in aweek) now I dont know wheather to replace the oil pump or have the gauges replaced has anyone else had this problem Thanks.

That sounds dangerous. Zero pressure means engine seize. Have a tech place a pressure gauge where the pressure sending switch should be on the engine and start it up. It will show true pressure there. If the engine seizes, that is a major repair as in swap the motor out. Yikes.

I think the whole GM truck line had problems with the instrument clusters. You can find services that repair them on Ebay all day long. Apparently GM had a bad vendor for gauge motors. My oil gauge will spin a full circle and is never right. The warning light and buzzer is more reliable and could mean there is a real issue. I had a bad oil pressure sender once that would blow the wire harness connector off of the sender( Someone had previously broken the lock tab off) and leak oil through the sender connection pins. The sender is a pain to get to. It's at the back of the engine behind the intake manifold down in the V and a little to the left of center.
