"RIDE" is very subjective.
Everyone has a different opinion on it.
Some like a softer car like ride, some like it stiffer.
No one can say what the "perfect" shock is for your truck.

I prefer a stiffer ride on my H3 (I have had trucks all my life).
The OEM's were too soft.
I ran Bilstien 5100's until one started leaking (i liked the stiffer ride).
Currently have Rancho's on the front and while better than OEM, they aren't as good as the Bilstiens.

New shocks are planned after spring thaw but Monroe monotube's aren't on my list.

Ive got a 2006 H2 with 33K miles on it, not sure if its ready for new shocks just beacause of the 'age' of the truck? Suggestions? Considering an ungrade to stock, light off roading, some camping but mostly use the vehicle on the highway hauling the kids and their stuff for vacations etc. So definitely interested in something that may give a better ride/handling--stock tires and wheels on the truck still. Thanks!

I think you're right hummerz, Monroe's are probably the way to go. I think mine are still ok, just want a little upgrade in handling and ride quality, especially with the new E load range Cooper tires I just put on

Ready for shocks? oe shocks only perform for a limited time! Besides that, your shocks are out of warranty! Replacing them with aftermarket, lifetime warranty shocks, is an upgrade. You can change them out anytime, at no charge to you. Shocks are a vital component in the suspension, weak shocks, cause more stress on other parts of the suspension.
