Sorry to hear about your misfortune, thank god for insurance! I wouldn't waste $400 for an alarm nobody pays attention to them, they are soo 1990's

I hate bad people... As for your question, when I wen throughout the dechroming process, I read up on the door assemblies. The drivers side can be accomplished on your own but count on spending 2 hours to accomplish it. There are videos on this; however, it is time intensive...

Is there a thread budget? I posted my experience which was last week. I had no idea posting an updated experience would disturb anyone.

Weird!

If you don't want new comments, close the thread.

Weird!

DIZEMAN your probably new to internet forums but you usually don't bring up old "zombie" threads. Especially ones that are several years old so just start a new thread. Heres just one of many examples.
What is a necro?

I have been posting on Bulletin Boards since November of 1988 and have never had anyone EVER in that period of time complain about posting to an old thread.

I cannot imagine why it would matter whatsoever, whether it was a new thread or an old thread, if the information being posted was new... which would potentially revive the discussion based on the information in the old thread which may be valuable to somebody whom has not yet seen the old information, but may indeed benefit from the information both old and new on ANY thread.

I think they coined the phrase "Much Ado About Nothing!" for responses like yours.

Again... can't think of a single reason why adding to an old thread would compel anyone to complain about adding a new experience to a list of old experiences.

Some bitch about anything and everything, but honestly... why on earth would it matter?

If you don't want to be reading NEW POSTS to OLD THREADS, either close the thread or JUST DON'T READ THE NEW POSTS!

I never cease to be amazed at the crap people find important enough to bitch about.

While were on this subject, they broke into my H2 for a 2nd time,1st time was 3 years ago,i only had the Hummer alarm (worthless) at the time.they stole everything I had in truck,snap-on tools, escort radar dector, tow strap, and did 4,000.00 damage to both doors with a crow bar......last week at golden corall was a different ball game,i had a Viper alarm installed, and its backed by a Wheelen air horn/pa with a 100 watt electric horn....they used a screwdriver to try to open the door,we were eating dinner at the time, when he poped the lock the alarm went off, 100 watt horn blasting,bells/vibrator ringing, notifing me it was broken into on my key chain, I looked and they were scurring/running away empty handed while the wheelen air horn blasting away had everyone looking that way.....was very happy with the 700$ investment......minimal damage cost me 100.00 for new latch and install by hummer service.....allstate gave me $230.00 to get it fixed, this time I had the back passenger door pull lever in stalled where the key latch used to be,never use the key there anyway, now they have to break drivers door....only key availbale to acess now..and I always back the truck in to parking spaces...Hopefully they don't try again, but im ready for them.....Viper/Wheelen..

2004H2/2006H3

Kyle.

Hi KYLE:

This is how mine was broken into last week, the door handle can be bought at Hummer dealer...I paid $68.00,for the latchw/crome handle and the install, witch was done in 1 hour at hummer service..by a mechanic who knows me there charged me $20.00 to put it in.....I put a blank in the passengers door this time instead of a key entry....

The body shop wanted to keep truck for 7 days and re-bill my allstate claim...for more money.....while they waited for the part,i had the part overnighted from Ohio,to Florida, had it next day at noon.....and had it done same day....was easy fix...

Hope this helps.....Rick H2/H3

@Dizeman...thank you for that! I also don't understand the problem. I'm new to this site and I appreciate all the threads whether they are old or not. If it's good information, why complain? I'm SMH at this person who decided it was their place to police what can be commented on. Close the thread if you have problem and shut the hell up! I wonder if I tell you to have a Merry Christmas, the guy policing you will try to tell me to say happy holidays? Oh, that's right who gives a hoot what they have to say. Merry Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU TONI1!

Yeah, I don't get people like that... hope I never do. I can't figure out who was harmed by the additional NEW posts.

Thanks for your response!
