Default Gas mileage revisited

I have posted in some of the previous threads about gas mileage so I just thought I would post an update on some of my experience with mileage. Previously I said I was getting right around 15 mpg. My worst was 12.7 and my best was 15.5 around town. My best on the highway was 17.2 or something close to that.

On a recent move, I pulled a U-Haul 5x8 trailer from Central CA to Southern TX and averaged 15.5 pulling the trailer. Once I dropped the trailer and drove from Southern TX to North GA without the trailer, I averaged 19.2 mpg! Best I have ever gotten. While driving around in the Southeastern US for the past month I have had an average of 18.343 mpg with around town driving.

Is it possible that the gas they sell down here is somehow different? I can't explain the difference in mileage. I drive the same. My truck is the same. I'm definitely not complaining but I just wonder what the difference is.

If that is what it is, I'll take it. Still got the exhaust and tune stuff to do. Hopefully can pull a little more from it.

it might be the air, I have noticed this also, I took a trip to washington DC, about 6hours away, and when I fueled up down there it seemed to last the two weeks, but I guess we will never know, I also tried pure acetone in the tank because I knew it was going to burn out anyways, no kidding aside I got 22mpg on the highway, I'm sure someone will say pure acetone is bad and all this good stuff, but it is a hummer and I got the extended warranty just in case....

I think I am going to run some Seafoam through mine and clean the throttle body and see what that does to it. I'm in the uppers 80ks now so I'm sure it can use it.
